A Walk in the Woods

A walk in the woods

She walked in the grass in her bare feet,

feeling last night’s rain with each step.

Her mind could see the way to go.

She hadn’t been here before,

but it still looked familiar.

There was a knowing.

And her mind told her to keep going.

She was looking for something.

She just didn’t know what yet.

She climbed over the fence,

And headed into the woods.

The mud covered her feet, but she didn’t care.

Her heart was pounding, her breathing was faster.

She was getting close, she could feel it.

She kept going until the trees broke away.

There was a clearing up ahead.

She stopped and dropped to her knees.

Just in front of her was all she needed to know,

The truth she had been praying for.

And she screamed. She kept screaming.

Until she woke up.

Be Proud of Yourself

It isn’t easy overcoming the things people have said to you or about you to others. Anyone who takes away your self-worth isn’t your group of people. It can be family you need to cut ties with in order to preserve your own worth. It’s okay if you need to do that. You doing what makes you happy, loving who you want to love, and being yourself means more than their opinions. Be yourself, be true to who you are, and don’t let anyone hold you back.

You Need These Words

I have wanted to write a book since I was 8 years old. It’s always been floating around in the back of my mind. One day, I started having these different thoughts about things that I would want to hear, or tell someone else, when struggling. That’s how my first book came to be. I wanted people to have a book they could pick up and find words that would pick them up and make them feel like they matter. If your interested in reading my book, you can find it:

I’d really love any feedback if you do choose to read it!
